The City As A Classroom
Chapter 6: Basic Elements for Outdoor Learning
Our book "The City as a Classroom" introduces the reader to the benefits, challenges and potentials of outdoor learning methods. Through precedents, examples, methodologies and interviews the content questions "what constitutes a good room for learning?". Outdoor learning has been adapted in many schools as a solution for limited indoor learning spaces and for the current disconnect between children and their environment.
Below we've attached a chapter from the book that guides the reader through the basic necessary elements in order to conduct efficient, successful and safe outdoor teaching. We wanted to make this content public in hopes that more educators will embrace alternative teaching methods that will enhance the students' learning experience and improve their perception and understanding of their surroundings.
