American Students in Japan
As an additional course to their studies, a group of American planning students from Pratt University traveled to Japan to study Tokyo planning and urbanism. The students field work in Japan included observational methods, analytical sketches, diagrams, photography, and personal interactions with Japanese planning and architecture students, professors and professionals.

Danish Teachers Teaching in Japan
arki_lab’s involvement in this course was essential especially in regards to the research project in public space. Our role was to co-teach with Jonathan Martin and the Japanese professors in making relevant and meaningful observations on Japanese public space. We also assisted the students in thinking creatively about how observations might be recorded graphically.
